Dynamiq Engineering recently completed the detailed analysis and design of a range of large scale industrial stainless steel centrifugal fans. The project involved the aerodynamic, static structural and structural dynamic analysis and engineering design of the products. Bespoke industrial fans provide a complex engineering challenge as only a limited pallet of manufacturing and fabrication techniques are available in order to maintain production costs at an acceptable level.
Dynamiq Engineering developed fans of up to 2.0m in diameter; using advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) coupled to advanced finite element analysis (FEA) allowing efficiencies in excess of 90% to be achieved, while maintaining stability at tip speeds of 100m/s.
